SHENZHEN, China, May 14, 2019 — Qkids, a leading online education platform that connects North American English teachers with Chinese students, emerged as a finalist in two categories at the 2019 EdTech Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious educational technology awards. As part of EdTech’s Cool Tool nominees, Qkids was named in the Language Learning Solution and Personalized Learning Solution categories; it was the only Chinese product to be nominated for the latter.
Qkids delivered a strong showing at the awards thanks to its focus on high-quality teaching and research, as well as a commitment to encouraging self-motivation among children and sparking a genuine interest in English. Its curriculum has been independently researched and developed based on the Common Framework of European Languages (CEFR) and is in line with the new curriculum standards for public primary schools in China. This means that children learn English comprehension and speaking in an effective and practical way, and are able to deploy their skills in real-world situations.
“As technology empowers the possibilities of education, Qkids continues to focus on leveraging innovation to improve the quality of instruction and the overall experience,” says Adam Chen, Co-founder and Global President of Qkids. “We believe that every child, regardless of where he or she lives, should have the chance to learn English with attentive and high-quality guidance, so that they, too, can access greater opportunities in the future.” Launched in 2015, Qkids is dedicated to providing high-quality education resources to students and families across China, enabling Chinese children to grow up into global citizens. Currently, the platform boasts more than 15,000 high-level North American foreign teachers, while the number of paid students has surpassed 600,000. Qkids today covers more than 10 countries and regions around the world, becoming the leader in online children’s English classes.
